Nutella Banana Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats are an easy and delicious way to play with flavor combinations. I knew I wanted to use Nutella, and I love the combination of banana and Nutella, so this idea was born. The only thing I needed to figure out was how to incorporate the bananas. I assumed fresh bananas would add too much moisture, but I wanted that fresh taste. I decided to use banana chips, and it turned out great! If you are a fan of the banana/Nutella flavor combination, you need to try these!

Quick & Easy Preparation

These Rice Krispie treats come together in a few easy steps:

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.

  2. Add marshmallows to the pot and melt over medium heat, stirring often. Add vanilla extract and salt once the marshmallows have fully melted.

  3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in Rice Krispies and crushed banana chips. You can crush the banana chips to your preferred texture. I left some bigger pieces in mine, but finely crushed banana chips will work great as well.

  4. Fold in the Nutella, mixing until evenly distributed.

Chill, Cut, and Enjoy!

Spread the Rice Krispie mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan and press down to ensure an even thickness. Transfer to the refrigerator and let the Rice Krispie treats cool completely before cutting.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Classic Rice Krispie treats get an upgrade with the addition of Nutella and banana chips.

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 12 oz package of marshmallows
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 and 1/2 cups banana chips, crushed
  • 3/4 cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the marshmallows to the pot and melt over medium heat, stirring often. Add the vanilla extract and salt once the marshmallows have fully melted.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies and crushed banana chips.
  5. Fold in the Nutella, mixing until evenly distributed.
  6. Spread the Rice Krispie mixture in the pan. Press down to ensure an even thickness.
  7. Let the Rice Krispie treats cool completely before cutting. You can put them in the refrigerator to speed up this process if needed.
